Hands, feet heart

Last week, we started our music lessons in Year 2.

We were learning about pulse and the children were encouraged to use their body movements to find the pulse of the song ‘Hands, feet heart’.

This song was one of many we will be listening to this half term, where the music comes from South Africa.

The children thoroughly enjoyed finding different ways to move their bodies along to the pulse of the song.

Here are some pictures from the lesson.

Golden Moments Assembly

At the end of every week, we have a class assembly called ‘Golden Moments’.

We have a special golden box inside the classroom where children and teachers can post a golden leave with a child’s name on.

The child can be chosen for doing the right thing in school, working hard, being a good friend, etc.

So far since being back at school, two children have received golden leaves.

Congratulations to Thomas and Dylan! You have both been working so hard. Dylan has been doing speedy reading in RWI and Thomas has been a shining example and role model to Year 2 and KS1.

Keep it up boys! Miss Mills, Mrs Beddow, Mrs Dennis and Mrs O’Brien are all very proud of you.

Welcome back and thank you 😁

We have made it through the first 2 weeks of school! You have all made me very proud with your perseverance, your friendliness towards each other and your positive attitude towards learning and being in school.

Thank you Year 2 for making my first two weeks back at Rushall so warm, caring, friendly and fun!

Keep your eyes peeled for the next blog post. Take care and stay safe.

Miss Mills

Hello from Miss Mills!

Good morning Year 1 children, soon to be Year 2 children. I hope you are well and enjoying your weekend. I am currently sat outside in my garden in the sunshine enjoying a cup of tea and a bowl of porridge. It’s our picnic on Wednesday and I am so excited for it! It will be lovely to put faces to names and get to know all of you. Bring your smiling faces along and be prepared to have a laugh and some fun.

I will see you on Wednesday!

Love Miss Mills 😁 xx
